ALBERTO FOGUELMAN (1923-2013)

Nació en 1923 en Buenos Aires Argentina y en su vida privada se dedicó a las actividades gráficas.

Como jugador de ajedrez obtuvo el título de Maestro Internacional participando en competencias de alto nivel con notable éxito. Integró el equipo argentino en las olimpiadas de Leipzig, en 1960 y en la de Varma en 1962. Se destacó especialmente en el torneo internacional en Santiago de Chile de 1965, logrando un tercer lugar detrás de Smyslow y Geller.

Es autor de los libros «Ajedrez de Lujo» y «Damas Casadas». Su actividad de compositor dio comienzo en el año 1978, participando en concursos internacionales y obteniendo significativas distinciones.

Fue jurado de concursos y un excelente observador y comentarista de las partidas vivas. Falleció a la edad de 90 años el 9 de diciembre del 2013
