Black’s material advantage is compensated by the presence of a strong passed pawn and the active position of the w-King.
Plan A is connected with the use of the passed c-pawn. But before advancing the c-pawn, White must take control of the b6-square:
1.Nbc4+ dxc4! (But not 1…Kf4? because of 2.c6! Nf6 3.Nd6! Nf2 4.Nxf7! (4.fxg6? fxg6! Theme in Black’s game. (Thematic try (TT) 4…hxg6? 5.Nxf7=) 5.Nf7 Ne8–+)
4…Ne8 5.fxg6 hxg6 6.Ng5 Ng7 7.Nh3+=) 2.Nxc4+ K~ 3.c6 Nb6 4.Nxb6 Ne3 5.fxg6 hxg6 6.c7 Nf5+ 7.Kg5 Nd6=.
The same results are obtained after 1.Ndc4+ dxc4! 2.Nxc4+. This is not a thematic choice of the knight’s move on the c4 square, this is a dual. And since the dual on the 1st move is unacceptable, the move 1.Nc4+ (with any knight!) cannot be a solution! But why? And here is the answer:
1.Nc4+? dxc4! 2.Nxc4+ Kf4! 3.c6 Nf6 4.c7 Nf2 5.c8Q the goal has been achieved, but 5…g5#! Plan A turned out to be a Try. Therefore, White carries out
